De Novo Profiling of Long Non-Coding RNAs Involved in MC-LR-Induced Liver Injury in Whitefish: Discovery and Perspectives

چکیده
Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a potent hepatotoxin for which substantial gap in knowledge persists regarding the underlying molecular mechanisms of liver toxicity and injury. Although long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been extensively studied model organisms, our concerning role lncRNAs injury limited. Given that show low levels sequence conservation, their becomes even more unclear non-model organisms without an annotated genome, like whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus). The objective this study was to discover profile aberrantly expressed polyadenylated are involved MC-LR-induced whitefish. Using RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) data, we de novo assembled high-quality transcriptome. This enabled us find 94 differentially (DE) putative evolutionary conserved lncRNAs, such as MALAT1, HOTTIP, HOTAIR or HULC, 4429 DE novel differed from protein-coding transcripts (PCTs) terms minimum free energy, guanine-cytosine (GC) base-pair content length. Additionally, identified might be 3′ autonomous untranslated regions (3′UTRs) mRNAs. We found both well could serve biomarkers

The Role of Long Non-Coding RNAs in Ovarian Cancer
Background: Ovarian cancer is the most fatal tumor of female's reproductive system, and several genetics and environmental factors are involved in its development. Various studies have already identified suitable biomarkers to facilitate the early detection, prognosis evaluation, and the assessment of treatment response. However, the aim of this review was to investigate the role of long non-co...
متن کاملLong non-coding RNAs and their significance in human diseases
Protein-coding genes account for only a small fraction of the human genome and most of the genomic sequences are transcriptionally silent, but recent observations indicate significant functional elements, including non-coding protein transcripts in the human genome. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been defined as transcripts of >200 nucleotides without protein-coding capacity that perform t...
متن کاملSOX2OT, a long non-coding RNA involved in autophagy regulation
Summary: SOX2 overlapping transcript (SOX2OT) is a long non-coding RNA associated with cancer pathogenesis. It contributes to a variety of cellular functions and recent evidence propounds its association with autophagy process. It has been showed that SOX2OT can regulate the expression of different autophagy associated factors in human cells with different mechanisms, however more remains to ...
متن کاملThe Role of Long Non Coding RNAs in the Repair of DNA Double Strand Breaks
DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) are abrasions caused in both strands of the DNA duplex following exposure to both exogenous and endogenous conditions. Such abrasions have deleterious effect in cells leading to genome rearrangements and cell death. A number of repair systems including homologous recombination (HR) and non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) have been evolved to minimize the fatal effe...
